Sondale (by Glamourdale) approved for KWPN breeding
The three-year-old Sondale (V. GLAMOURDALE KEUR V. LORD LEATHERDALE M. FENNE DP STB STER, PROK, PROVISIONALLY KEUR V. VIVALDI PREF M. NO LIMIT RP STB KEUR MV. HOUSTON KEUR — KAISERSTERN XX BREEDER: A. VAN DEN BROEK, BOEKEL GER.: VAN OLST HORSES, TERHEIJDENSSPOOR 9, 4911 BW DEN HOUT) stood out with his good workability, attitude and balance.
Exterior: Sondale is a stallion with good proportions in his body, he stands in a good rectangular model. The neck is well-formed and muscular, the head-neck connection is light. The shoulder is long and sloping, the withers extend well into the back. The back and loins are well-muscled and connected. The croup is slightly straight and of good length. The foreleg is correctly positioned. The hooves are well-formed and of good quality with appropriate heels.
Pedigree: Sire de Keur stallion Glamourdale became champion at the KWPN Stallion Show as a three-year-old, won his first world title in the seven-year-old class and won gold twice at the WEG in Herning. At the Paris Olympics, this powerful stallion took two bronze medals, and is also making impressive progress in breeding. Several offspring from his first crop have already broken through at the highest level, such as Kuvasz RS2 N.O.P., Kashmir, and Karldyr MB. This Glamourdale son, Sondale, is bred out of a full sister of Diane Rose’s Intermediaire II dressage horse Coco. As the dam’s sire, Grand Prix horse producer Vivaldi contributes his genes. He has made his mark in breeding thanks to offspring competing at the highest level, such as Dream Boy, Desperado, Expression, and Cennin. Through the progenitor Houston, this Dutch dam line, in its third generation, goes back to the half-bred mare Eva, who also founded the international Grand Prix horses Ferero (by Ferro) ridden by Chantal Wigan and Ferrari (by Apache) ridden by Jeanine Nekeman.
Examination report: Sondale is a balanced and likeable stallion. He has a keenness to work and is well-focused on the rider. His walk is a good four-beat with good body use and plenty of scope. The trot demonstrates balance and leg technique, while the hind leg remains sufficiently understep. The canter is balanced and scopey. The hind leg carries, creating a beautiful silhouette. Sondale uses his body and demonstrates adaptability. He gives the rider a good feeling and has developed positively in self-carriage during the examination.
Stable behavior: Honest, reliable stallion, easy to handle, and calm in the stable.
Veterinary report: No abnormalities noted. Semen analysis: Expected fertility class: good.
Breeding/mating advice: Sondale can improve the topline and connections in the body, and add lightness to dressage horse breeding.
