2013 KWPN performance test champion dressage
Fairytale, winner of the KWPN performance test in Spring 2013, is a son of Lord Leatherdale. Dam Aïda is a daughter of Negro, sire of the double Olympic gold winner Valegro. Negro has the preferent status and with this title is now amongst the exclusive and unique “all-time-greats”.
Aïda’s dam, the Oldenburg top mare Ballerina II (Don Gregory s.Donnerhall) is a full-sister of Don Ruto (sire of top horses including Don Jovi, Don Jeroen, Zidhane, Nip Tuck) and is out of the wonderful mare Ballerina I (s.Rubinstein x Matador x Carajan x Hirtensang). The Hirtensang mare ‘Blitzrot’ is the granddam of Doruto, the Dutch top dressage horse producer number 1, and is one of the small select group of top mares responsible for restarting the Trakehner breeding in Germany after WWII. This sensational dam-line goes back to the very important and influential Trakehner bloodline 16a that produced the stallions: Doruto, Royal Doruto, Don Ruto, Buddenbrock, Benz, Bernstein etc.
