Top scorers of Van Olst Horses at IBOP

Two three-year-old mares scored exactly 85 points during the IBOP test in Velddriel. The NMK mare Peru Dos (by Kjento), breeder Gerard de Bruyn from Schelluinen reached this total with only 8.5’s. “This mare showed a very even performance and is easy to ride. She walks actively, with good shoulder freedom and flexibility. She has a very strong trot, in which she brings her hind leg under well and moves through the track with a lot of impulsion, posture and carriage. We also saw that attitude in the canter, in which she combines good impulsion with leg technique.”

A 9.5 for the canter also brought Prima Donna M (by Glamourdale) from breeder E. Meijer from Landgraaf) to 85 points. “This mare made a somewhat greener impression, but was already very good to ride and was good at the aids. Her walk is active and was a bit tense at first, allowing her to show more body use and transition, but this improved as the performance progressed. She trots with good leg technique, can switch very well and continues to supplement nicely from the hind leg. Her canter is very impressive and she certainly seems to have inherited that from her father: she has a lot of space, a lot of impulsion, always remains very nicely balanced on the hind leg and does everything with remarkable ease. A really great canter.”
