Everest and Ilegro selected for the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses
The last World Championship selection took place in Delft on 10 June. After this selection moment, the committee announced the combinations that will represent the Netherlands at the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses from 5 to 10 August in Verden on Wednesday evening 11 June.
The selection committee, consisting of Johan Hamminga, Alex van Silfhout and Janine van Twist, assessed the horses in Delft in the final test. After this selection, they reduced a group of more than thirty horses to six selected combinations.
The last World Championship selection was ridden during Concours Delft at Manege de Prinsenstad. “There was a professional track with international allure there,” according to Johan. “The weather didn’t really cooperate in the morning, but that can happen at a World Championship. The conditions in Delft gave us a good idea of how the horses perform in an exciting environment. The horses were generally able to handle the decorated track well. Good, well-finished tests were ridden. We saw the ease, relaxedness and a harmonious image. That was our selection and the riders worked hard on that.”
Lottie Fry presented Ilegro (Inclusive out of Jalegrofleur ster pref PROK by Negro, breeder Van Olst Horses from Den Hout and Joop Hanse from Burgh-Haamstede) and Everest (V.
