Exciting “photo finish” for Glamourdale and Zonik Plus in Freestyle

It was a joy to watch the World Cup Grand Prix during The Dutch Masters in ’s-Hertogenbosch. The anticipated duel between two impressive black stallions turned out to be particularly exciting.
The KWPN-approved Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale out of Thuja stb pref prest by Negro, bred by Joop Rodenburg) was the first of the two black stallions to enter the arena. He is the winner of the World Cup competitions in London and Amsterdam and the defending champion in the World Cup. Under British rider Charlotte Fry, the stallion performed his Grand Prix with great bravado. With 78.022%, Glamourdale secured a fantastic second place.

It was an exciting battle between the two black stallions at The Dutch Masters, where it was unclear beforehand who would win. In the Grand Prix, both stallions were sometimes slightly distracted, but a day later in the Freestyle, they were both incredibly sharp. A feeling like never before
Glamourdale was the first of the two to enter the arena, and apart from a small mistake, the Van Olst Horses stallion performed brilliantly. Fry guided him through the course with great bravado, with the extended trot, extended canter, changes of lead, and his lateral movements being a delight to watch.

“Glammy felt amazing today. In some exercises, he gave a feeling like never before. It was a shame about the small mistakes, but that does mean there is still room for improvement. Who knows, maybe we can beat Justin and Zonik Plus someday,” laughed Fry. With 89.085%, she finished second by a minimal margin behind Zonik Plus (89.205%) and Verboomen.
