The day after!

Superlatives are not enough for the very impressive Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale out of Thuja pref by Negro) who again showed his best side tonight under Charlotte Fry. With a difference of about 1.2%, the gold went to the KWPN stallion, the final score was 82.508%.

The sky is the limit
She still can’t believe it, but 26-year-old Charlotte Fry has just become world champion. “I sat on him for the first time when he was six. I had never been on such a horse before, the sky really felt like the limit then and it still does. As a seven-year-old he won gold at the World Championships, which was already fantastic. Even then I knew he was a real show twink, he loves all the attention. Then we started working towards the Grand Prix and he just keeps getting better and stronger. He really is a horse in a million, and I am so looking forward to the future. This is only his first championship and there is still so much to improve on. When you think about it, it’s almost a little scary that a horse this fantastic has the potential for even more.”

Tuesday is a rest day, after which the closing Freestyle will be held on Wednesday. Lottie will ride her new Freestyle “Best of Britain” where the greatest hits in British history come together in an amazing choreography.

Champion of the World!!!

The unbelievable just happened! Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale became World Champion in the Grand Prix Special during the World Championship in Herning!

What a test, what a horse, what a rider!

As the penultimate starter in the class, the pair was allowed to enter the track. While their performance in the Grand Prix yesterday was already amazing, now they went even further!
Tomorrow we will post a full message, now its time for champagne!

Glamourdale impresses with new PR, British KWPN team to team silver

With six 10s for the canter parts, Charlotte Fry rode the KWPN-approved Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale out of Thuja pref by Negro, breeder: J.W. Rodenburg of Ouderkerk aan den IJssel) to a new PR score: 80.838%. The audience enjoyed the impressive stallion, and he in turn seemed to enjoy the enthusiastic audience. In the last line, there was exuberant clapping in the Stutteri Ask Stadium, where Glamourdale seemed to wonder if this was really for him, according to his proud rider.

“I want to prove how fantastic Glamourdale is”
“I am speechless, he was so good! As soon as we left the warm up arena and he heard the crowd, Glamourdale seemed really ready. The test felt fantastic,” says Fry affected after the test. She continues: “Hopefully tomorrow I can get the little things out of the pirouettes, otherwise he was just ‘on fire’.” Despite the high expectations for Glamourdale and Fry, he does not yet have a lot of international experience. “He’s never traveled this far and been away from home for so long, but he really behaves like he doesn’t act differently. He’s only eleven and a stallion, which is often more difficult, but not with Glamourdale.” The pressure is high, everyone is talking about your chances and possibilities. How does that feel? “It makes me want to do really, really well. I want to do Glamourdale justice because everyone thinks he’s fantastic, so it’s up to me to prove how fantastic he really is. So there’s a lot of pressure, but I have a great team around us and the partnership with Glamourdale is great. I hope he loves me as much as I love him.”

Team GB wins silver in Herning!

The World Equestrian Games started yesterday in Herning (Denmark) with the Grand Prix dressage. Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale, breeder Fam, Rodenburg from Ouderkerk a.d. Amstel, will start here. This Grand Prix test is the team test where the medals will be given to the best scoring coutnries. The best 30 combinations from this test will start in the Grand Prix Special on Monday where the first individual medals will be awarded.

On Saturday, Gareth Hughes and Richard Davison started on behalf of Team GB and were able to establish a good basis for the team. On Sunday it was Charlotte Dujardin’s turn with Imothep. What is special is that this Imhotep is a son of our stallion Everdale!

Lottie entered the ring with Glamourdale as the last starter for team GB. The burly black entered the ring imposingly, stood still like a statue and left like a king to begin his trial. Highlights in his test included the extended trot and passage. Tens were given for the changes every two strides, the extended canter but also for the last line in the test where the piaffe and passage were shown. In the end the score came to 80.838! Another new personal record for Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale and for the first time a score over the magical 80%!

And then the waiting for the other countries started. Denmark and Germany are the countries also competing for the medals. Denmark, who started this championship as the favorite, took 1st place, Great Britain got 2nd and Germany became 3rd.

In the final result Lottie became 2nd!!
