Idwinaretto (s. Everdale) to Yvonne Losos de Muniz

They eight year old mare Idwinaretto goes to the Olympic dressage rider Yvonne Losos de Muniz. Idwinaretto (Everdale x Johnson, bred by P. Dolfsma) was born in the Netherlands. As a foal she’s been sold to Lickley Horses in the UK. In 2017 she made her competition debut as a four year old, ridden by Darren Hicks. Lickley then sold the mare to Van Olst Horses.

Van Olst re-sold her to Katarzyna Milczarek in Poland and Milczarek developed her to Grand Prix level. Under Hubert Jankowski she became Polish champion in the Developing Prix St Georges horse class for 7 – 8-year old horses.

The mare will now continue her career under  Yvonne Losos de Muniz. Yvonne describes her as a tall and powerfull mare with outstanding movement and ability.

We wish the combination all the best for the future!

Jessica Leijser: “I’ve never had such a good horse”

Jessica Leijser is back in the sub-top after a year of absence. She rode her self-trained Kashmir  (by Glamourdale) to a third place and 67.143% in the ZZ-Zwaar. The combination started during Geldrop Hippique in Heeze.

Promise for the future

The rider was ready for a new challenge and the black Kashmir was ready for it. “My other horse was sold and I thought it was a bit boring. I haven’t ridden many national competitions in recent years. I actually want to go back to the subtop again, the six-year-old was ready and I thought ‘let’s go for it!’ Despite some tension and some mistakes, we could already start with this score. That promises something for the future,” says Jessica.

Self-bred and trained

“The extended gaits in both trot and canter and the tempi changes were the highlights of the test. The trot halfpasses also scored good points,” she says. The black Kashmir is bred and trained by herself. “I have never had such a good horse as this one. He is still very young but he has so much talent for higher work. He plays with the exercises and it comes easily to him. Now I thought, I’m going to ride it nicely ZZ-Zwaar to gain experience. Next year we will make the step up to the Small Tour and I want to take him internationally as well.”

Natural talent

“Kashmir is a real natural talent. I regularly get questions about that horse, so whether I have him in the stable for another year is the question. But until then, I’m enjoying him immensely. My other horses are still young, so it will take a few more years before I can ride in the subtop again,” she says. “The judges were also very enthusiastic. Something really comes in and they thought he was a very good horse. The tension still has to come off and the mistakes removed and then it is certainly a horse that can score 75%. But it has to happen first. Now it’s a matter of putting miles on it and gaining experience.”

Looking back at a fantastic competition season!

Last week there came an end to a fantastic competition season. The competition horses are now getting a well-deserved period of rest. Time to look back at the great results of the last months.

The season started at the end of April at CDI Hagen. Lottie competed here with Everdale and Glamourdale. For Glamourdale this was his International debut! Both horses did super tests, and that after a long competition break due to the corona virus. For Glamourdale there was 76.40% and a fifth place in the Grand Prix Special. Everdale scored a new PR of 81.77% in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Then Inclusive, Everdale and Dark Legend went to CDI Exloo in early May. It was also a long time ago for these horses that they’d been out competing. Inclusive scored a beautiful 73.33%, good for a second place. With Dark Legend, Lottie won the Grand Prix Freestyle with a new PR of 81.56%. Everdale won the Special with 77%!

Meanwhile, the qualifications for the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden took place. Lottie rode the qualifiers with the approved stallion Kjento. Time after time they rode amazing tests and received praising comments from the judges.

After CDI Exloo Lottie went to Grote Brogel with Glamourdale. On only his second International Grand Prix competition, there were two fantastic victories. 76.76% in the Grand Prix, and 83.24% for his first-ever Grand Prix Freestyle!!

At the end of May, CDI Compiègne was on the program. This time with Everdale, Don Joe and Dark Legend. Don Joe won the Intermediate I,  with a top score of 73.71%! Lottie and Everdale won the 3* Grand Prix with 76.67%. Dark Legend became third with 76.10% in the Grand Prix Special.

In June there was time to train at home. Then on July 1st the fantastic news came in that Lottie and Everdale had been selected for the Olympic Games in Tokyo! Together with Carl Hester, Charlotte Dujardin and Gareth Hughes they were allowed to represent Great Britain. After a quarantine period in Aachen with Everdale and Dark Legend, Everdale arrived safely in Japan with his groom Steven Caley on July 15th.

On July 21, the news came that Kjento and Lottie had been selected for the World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden! On July 24, Lottie and Everdale made a fantastic Olympic debut. 77.096% and a first place in their group. With this they immediately qualified for the Grand Prix Freestyle.

On July 27, the Grand Prix Special was on the program, which counted as Nations Cup. Here, Charlotte Fry and Everdale, together with teammates Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin, took third place. Team bronze! A fantastic achievement. On July 28 it was time for the last part: the Grand Prix Freestyle. A wonderful way to end the Olympics: 80.61% for Lottie and Everdale!

There was not much time to recover from the Games, because in August it was time for the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses with Kjento. The stallion was in top form and Lottie rode beautiful tests. This resulted in a fantastic win! Kjento World Champion Young Dressage Horses 2021 with an unbelievable score of 96% and four times the ultimate 10!!!

Immediately after the World Cup, Lottie went to the European Championships in Hagen, together with Everdale. The combination scored no less than three PRs and closed the week with a mega score of 84.72% and a fifth place in a super strong field of participants. In the Nations Cup there was a SILVER medal for team Great Britain!

And then the end of this busy but extremely successful season for Van Olst Horses: CHIO Aachen with Glamourdale and Dark Legend. Glamourdale scored 73.04% in the Grand Prix and became second with 77.17% in the Grand Prix Special. Due to the busy weeks prior to Aachen, the preparation for Glamourdale was not optimal, but he again showed that he has a lot of quality. Dark Legend gave his best and became second in the Grand Prix with 76.71% and third in the Freestyle with 83.67%.

What a season, we are very proud of our horses and our team! We want to thank all our loyal followers and sponsors for their support!

Day 2 Aachen, part 2

Tonight Glamourdale competed in the Grand Prix Special. From the 4* GP, half of the participants will ride the Special and the other half the Freestyle that is scheduled for Saturday.
As the penultimate starter in this section, Lottie and Glamourdale were allowed to start. While the previous contestant left the arena with applause, the duo entered the impressive arena. Glamourdale was clearly looking forward to it and showed it off. Just like in the Grand Prix, he showed that he has all the qualities required at this level. He also got the first 10 in a Grand Prix class for the extended canter. There were nines for, among other things, the passage and the tempi changes every two strides. At the end of the test, the jury awarded the performance with 77.170% which is an amazing score!

On Sunday, Charlotte Fry and Dark Legend will compete in the freestyle to music, the closing class of this dressage competition.

Day 2 Aachen:

Friday is all about the Grand Prix 5* that Lottie will ride with Dark Legend and the 4* Grand Prix Special with Glamourdale.

As one of the last starters in the Grand Prix, Lottie and Dark Legend rode there test. This competition is the first competition where “Darkie” will compete after a long break. As a reserve horse he went to the quarantine for the Olympic Games in Aachen and on this ground he will make his comeback.
They entered the stadium full of power and immediately made an impression when they entered. A clear round followed in which the duo showed that this combination can be taken into account for the future. A very nice 76.717% was the result and a great second place!

Tonight at 19.25 she will start with Glamourdale in the Grand Prix Special 4*.

Day 1 Aachen

On Thursday, the Aachen competition started for Lottie with the Grand Prix 4* with Glamourdale.

The former world champion made his international debut this year in the Grand Prix. During the “Weltfest des Pferdes” as the competition in Aachen is also called, they made there third start in the international competition. At the age of 10, Glamourdale is the youngest participant in this test.

A test that started with highlights in, among other things, the extended trot, followed by beautiful half-passes. Passage with a lot of tact and well off the ground with again nice transitions to the piaffe, which was shown very nicely. The canter, for which he received a 1o at the World Championship, was shown with big strides, the tempi changes were amazing, many “Oe” and “Aah” sounded from the surrounding stands. The extended canter shown by the book. The half passen in canter were also a highlight in this test. Unfortunately, Glamourdale came back a little too much in the pirouettes in canter, but these were the only two small mistakes in an otherwise amazing test. With 73.043% they placed fifth in this strong field of competitors.

On Friday evening, the duo will once again perform in this impressive stadium and then in the Grand Prix Special.
