Idefix (s. Chippendale) wins ZZ-zwaar Den Hoorn

Last weekend Patrick van der Meer and Idefix managed to win the ZZ-zwaar class at Charon Paardensport in Den Hoorn. Idefix is a descendant of Chippendale. He’s bred by Jacatra B.V. The combination showed a lot of potential and scored no less than 73%!

Exciting edition Van Olst Sales Online ridden horses

The 4-year old NRPS licensed stallion Guinnes (Glamourdale x Johnson x Haarlem) became the best seller of the 2021 Van Olst Sales of ridden horses. This very striking black stallion was sold to Marc Geerts’ jumper brood farm Tommelberg in Loenhout, who recently started investing in dressage horses. He is now the new owner for no less than €130,000.

We knew upfront that there was a lot of interest in Guinness and Noire NA. Noire NA, by Painted Black, managed to keep the bidding going the longest and was sold for €90.000,-. Jack, the first horse in the auction was not sold, just as the stallions Depay and Irvin who will also stay in Den Hout. Mabel by Dettori will go to an English stable and Mistral by Fiamingho will leave for Canada. The other horses have been sold to England and to Dutch riders.

85 points for Lantanas at Stallion Competition Kronenberg

Last Monday, October 25, the first part of the Stallion Competition Dressage 2021/2022 took place in Kronenberg. Charlotte Fry presented Lantanas here in the M class. Lantanas is a 5 year old descendant of Sir Donnerhall x Hemmingway. He’s bred by S.A.C. Kleuskens from Horst.

The combination rode a nice test and received 85 points. Lantanas has clearly become stronger in the past period. He showed good attitude and a lot of technique.

 

Glamourdale filly for 40.000 to Helgstrand Dressage

The Glamourdale x Franklin filly Worres Nikita was sold at the DWB World Cup Foal Auction for 40,000 euros. The foal will move to the stables of Helgstrand Dressage.

Worres Nikita was bred by Stud Worre in Denmark.

No Nonsense D (s. Glamourdale) succesful at VWF Prinsenstad

Last Saturday the VWF Prinsenstad took place in Delft. Kim Noordijk rode the test for three-year-old dressage horses here with No Nonsense D. This horse is a descendant of Glamourdale x Olivi. He’s bred by P. Damen. No Nonsense D is owned by Witte-Scholtens and MT-stables.

Kim describes No Nonsense as ‘a great horse to ride with a top attitude’. The combination received beautiful marks including a 9 for trot and elasticity and an 8.7 for canter and carriage. A promise for the future!

Glamordale Daughter Narzar to highest score in IBOP Sonnega

With 83.5 points, Narzar (Glamourdale out of Zarzar elite IBOP-dres pref PROK by Jazz, breeder W. Smid of Nuis) owned by J. Hooge of Ees achieved the highest score of the day. This three-year-old scored 8s and 8.5s and became an instant elite mare thanks to the IBOP. “This mare stood out with three good basic gaits and a beautiful silhouette. She walks well, trots with impulsion, suppleness, good posture and a nice foreleg technique. In canter she has a lot of power, space and attitude. In addition, the image is always uphill and moves with good behavior. She is also a pleasure to ride,” says Bart Henstra.

Anouk Ivits very successful with the mare Iris (s. Lord Leatherdale)

Last weekend Anouk Ivits competed her mare Iris at the Subtop competition in Schijndel. The combination won the Small Tour class with 68.80%. They also won the Inter I with a nice 69.338%!

The mare Iris is bred by Gertjan van Olst, and comes from an interesting dam line. Iris descends from the successful combination Lord Leatherdale x Negro. Her dam is the Elite Prok Ibop mare Eternal Flame (Negro x Monaco, ET). Eternal Flame is a full sister to Elegance (Negro x Monaco, ET). Elegance was successful at the Tokyo Olympics and is ridden by Beatriz Ferrer-Salat.

Anouk and Iris have already achieved many successes together. They were already extremely successful in the basic sport, and they are now continuing this in the Subtop. At the beginning of October, the combination won the Inter I at Geldrop Hippique with 72.35%. They also won silver at the Dutch National Championships Small Tour last August.

A beautiful collection including 18 high-quality, modern young dressage horses, descending from Van Olst stallions and carefully trained by team Van Olst Horses.

  • Jack – Negro x Flemmingh x Landetto – Gelding

The oldest horse in this auction is Negro’s son Jack. As with many descendants of Negro, the real talents emerge during the collected work. This 7 year old gelding has no problem with the highest form of collection. The passage is like a clock and the piaffe is also present in good quality.

Jack’s dam herself competed at Z1 level and she is also the dam of Jack’s full brother, Esplendido AZ, who competes at Small Tour level.

  • Guinness – Glamourdale x Johnson x Haarlem – Stallion

Guinness is an NRPS approved stallion who descends from the World Champion Glamourdale. Glamourdale is very successful in the international Grand Prix and his future looks exciting. Grandsire Johnson also competed at the highest level with Hans Peter Minderhoud.

Guinness seems to be a promising talent under the saddle, the start of the collection has been made and this looks very promising!

In 2021 Guinness qualified for the semi-finals of the Pavo Cup with a 9 for the trot and an 8.5 for the canter.

  • Noire NA – Painted Black x Lord Leatherdale x Negro – Mare

Noire’s pedigree combines Painted Black with the mare Izzy Lady NA who descends from the very successful combination Lord Leatherdale and Negro. We also see this combination in the Olympic stallion Everdale, World Champion Glamourdale and the Grand Prix stallion Chippendale. The Negro daughter Milady, the great-granddam of Noire NA, is a full sister of the Grand Prix dressage horse Bailey, who is very successful under the saddle of Maxime van der Vlist.

Team GB pushes KWPN into the lead in WBFSH rankings

The KWPN finished at the top of the WBFSH studbook ranking in the dressage discipline. The WBFSH rankings are calculated over the period October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021, horses can earn points at all international FEI competitions. They are placed on their successes and the results of the best six horses are included in the WBFSH studbook ranking.

The six best KWPN dressage horses of the past year are all in the top 20, with the horses of the English team being the best 3 KWPN horses.

Gio takes third place in the ranking. After a bronze medal in the freestyle in Tokyo, Gio (Apache out of Zenzi elite perst IBOP-dres D-OC by Tango, breeders H.J. de Jong of Gorichem and Ad Valk of Gorichem) also won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Hagen.

The KWPN stallion Everdale (Lord Leatherdale out of Aliska K elite EPTM-dress PROK by Negro, breeder P. Kluijtmans of Tilburg) is in sixth place. Everdale and 25-year-old Charlotte Fry earned their listing thanks to their great performances at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (bronze team medal GB) and the European Championships in Hagen.

En Vogue (Jazz out of Nicarla elite sport-dres PROK by Contango, breeder A. van de Goor) is in tenth place.

The Son De Niro daughter Zaire-E (out of Tara elite pref perst PROK by Jazz), bred by Empelaer Stoeterij of Lage Mierde, is joint eleventh together with Steffen Peters’ Suppenkasper (Spielberg out of Upanoeska keur perst by Krack C, breeder: F. van de Poel). Buriel K.H. (Osmium out of Ronja K.H. ster pref perst by Krack C, breeder P. Bakker of Oterleek) contributed to the leading position of the KWPN breeders.
