A view minutes ago the Grand Prix Special was ridden in Tokyo during the Olympic Games and Charlotte Fry and Everdale together with her teammates Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin won the Bronze Medal! An exceptionally good result of which we as Van Olst Horses are particularly proud of!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is already the last day where the Freestyle to music is scheduled. Here too Lottie will ride once more, the times are yet to be announced.
Tomorrow Charlotte Fry and Everdale (s. Lord Leatherdale) will start in the Grand Prix Special at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Severo Jurado Lopez and Fendi (s. Negro), and Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Elegance (s. Negro) will also start in the Special.
In addition, Lottie and Everdale as well as Beatriz Ferrer-salat and Elegance have qualified for the freestyle to music, which will be ridden on wednesday.

The four-year-old mare Money Penny became champion of the four- to seven-year-old dressage mares at the Central Inspection at de Mortel last weekend. ”A more than sufficiently developed mare, she has a very good trot in which she remains remarkably well closed. Her flexibility in movement is also very positive”, commented inspector Bart Bax. Money Penny’s dam performs in the international Small Tour.
Money Penny (Everdale x Krack C) was declared ‘ster’ with 80/85 and became now ‘voorlopig keur’. The mare is bred by Miléna Aubry and owned by Maarten and Nicole Donkers.

While Everdale is performing fantastic at the Olympics, his son Noir BH was sold at the Black Horses Auction last Friday for no less than 161,000 euros. The three-year-old stallion is bred out of the well-known Landsvrouwe-line which is known for, among others, Incognito, Merlot, Undercover and Amazing Star. Noir BH is bought by an Belgian investor who had the winning bid after a long bidding duel.

A foal inspection was organized at the very busy Central Inspection of North Brabant. Second placed was the Kjento son Ravian (out of the NMK champion Terlia keur IBOP-dres pref by Krack C) of breeder I.P.S. Horse Group from Elshout. Last February the mother of this foal, bred via embryo transfer, passed away. “This son of Terlia was born at the beginning of June and has a lot of charisma. He has a nice forehand and good muscling. He has a good walk, has an extra canter and showed a lot of technique and an uphill tendency in the trot.”
Ruby Rouge Bek (Glamourdale out of Moulin Rouge elite IBOP-dres D-OC by Bojengel, breeder Stal de Bekelaar of Kessel) of co-breeder R.H.J. Janssen from Angeren. “This foal also has a nice forehand, good withers and shoulders and a solid foundation. She moves with good tact and a lot of flexibility.”
Both foals have been invited for the National Foal Inspection in Ermelo.
Today the first group of riders will ride their Grand Prix at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Due to a new format, a group division has been made, so that the riders are divided into 6 groups. In today’s first group, Charlotte Fry and Everdale were allowed to start as 8th.
With an unparalleled test and an international personal best of 77.096%, they managed to take the lead in this group. Since this test is also the qualification for the Grand Prix Freestyle to music and the first two of the group are allowed to pass, she has placed herself!

Last weekend Brecht D’Hoore competed several horses at CDI Deauville. One of them was the 6-year old Kings-Dream WH (Everdale x Gribaldi, bred by A.D.M. Hendrickx-Dekkers).
In the Preliminary Test for 6-year old horses the combination scored 74.8%. In the Final Test they scored 78.8%. The judges described Kings-Dream WH as a beautiful horse with very clear ability to collect.
Yesterday evening, Everdale and his groom Steven Caley have safely arrived in Tokyo. It’s been a long journey but Everdale is fit and happy, just like the other three horses of team Great Brittain.
Charlotte Fry and Anne van Olst are now also their way to Japan. The big adventure has started!
The Olympics start on July 23rd. The first day of dressage is Saturday 24th of July. The first part of the Grand Prix will be held on this day. The second part of the Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday 25th of July, after which the Special, which counts as the Nations Cup, will be held on the 27th of July. The best 18 combinations will then compete during the Freestyle that will be held on July 28th.
Last weekend the International Festival of Dressage at Hartpury took place. Imhotep and Jerrydale, both sons of Everdale, entered the young horse Prix. St. Georges championship.
Imhotep and Charlotte Dujardin won the championship with an amazing score of 76.02%. Imhotep (Everdale x Vivaldi) is bred by T. Huizing and owned by Carl Hester and Peter Belshaw.
Jerrydale (Everdale x Havidoff) scored 67.549% in the final. This gelding is ridden and owned by the 19-year old Sophie Taylor. Jerrydale is bred by I.M.C. Schel-Schippers.
