Everdale Hengst Lottie

Someren: Everdale wins U25 Grand Prix with 75.38%

Today, 30th November, a Sub-top competition was held at Het Keelven in Someren. The 2 ladies, Lottie Fry and Franka Loos, from Team Van Olst were emphatically present and performed very nice tests under the watchful eye of trainer Anne van Olst and our competition groom Claire James.

The exceptionally talented stallion Everdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro) won the combined Big Tour class with a superb score of 75.38% in the U25 Grand Prix. “Just an incredibly good test with really nice series and a lot of eights for the piaffe and passage sections”, according to a happy Charlotte Fry. Everdale’s sire, Lord Leatherdale (Lord Loxley x Ferragamo), also scored well in the Inter II and was 2nd in this class with 66.39%. “Lord had a couple of small mistakes that prevented a higher score, he didn’t jump through well in a pirouette, but for the two-time series he scored a 9!”

In the ZZ-Z class Lottie made her debut with a Lord Leatherdale-son. This For Your Eyes Only scored well in all sections and narrowly missed the 70%. This combination showed much perspective for the future.

Kjento hengst

Kjento KWPN-Autumn inspection Performance Test star with 90 points!

Kjento: a superstar is emerging! We proudly present our recently KWPN-approved stallion Kjento. The sturdy, black, 3-year-old Kjento (Negro x Jazz x Juventus x Rubinstein I x Doruto x Heidelberg x Amor) showed himself outstandingly during the performance test.

Kjento is a generously-developed stallion with power and effusion and 3 exceptional basic paces, in which he stands out with his ‘takt’. His rideability and trainability are fantastic and he is always highly-focused on his rider. A horse with high expectations for the future, both for stud duties as well as for the top sport, bred out of an extremely strong family of champions.
This stallion’s dam is the top-mare Zoriana, daughter of the preferent Grand Prix dressage stallion Jazz, and is from the very successful breeding programme of the van Os family in Sprang Capelle. She holds the predicates elite, IBOP-(dress) and preferent. In the IBOP, as a young horse, she had very high scores. The trot was awarded a 10.0! For canter, elasticity and rideability she scored a 9.0. Carriage, balance and talent were awarded a 9.5.
Sire Negro needs little introduction as preferent top-producer and true Grand Prix horse producer.

KWPN Inspection report
Kjento is an honest, reliable, rider-focused stallion with an excellent temperament. The stallion is very willing to work and is very easy to work with. The walk is active, clear-cut and has good scope with good use of the body. The trot is very powerful, has good scope with a an extremely active hind leg that comes under well and carries very well. The canter is uphill, very powerful with very good self-carriage and scope. Kjento moves with good ‘takt’ and has very good leg action, self-carriage and balance; his great ability to collect attracts positive attention. As a dressage horse Kjento is very talented and gives his rider a good feeling.

Negro makes his mark on Autumn inspection test

After the KWPN Autumn inspection test for 3- and 4-year-old stallions, there is one stallion who is very noticeably making his mark: the preferent legend Negro (Ferro x Variant).

His son Kjento (Negro x Jazz) emerged as the big winner of the 3-year-old stallions with a record score of 90 points. Never before has a 3-year-old stallion earned his approval in Ermelo with such a mega score! An absolute milestone for this black Negro-son. His “lowest” score was an 8.5 for walk and the other scores were all 9.0s. He achieved his highest score for his canter (9.5) and it is exactly that for which Negro’s two 4-year-old grandsons also scored the highest. Add to this the fact that the performance test reports of these 3 stallions also state that they are very rider-focused and very good to train. And think too about his Olympic Gold-son Valegro, as well as his grandson Glamourdale (FEI-World Champion of 7-year-olds with a 10.0 for his canter), then you can talk of an absolute top-producer.

His 2 four-year-old sons Jayson (ds. Negro) and Jameson RS2 (ds.Negro) both achieved a top score in Ermelo. Here too the rideability and trainability attracted attention, as did the trademark of both stallions, the canter. Jayson scored a 9.0 for canter and Jameson RS2 a 10.0! Jameson RS2, out of the superbly-breeding Negro-daughter Atilinda M, achieved a record score of 90 points, just like Kjento, which has also never previously happened with a 4-year-old stallion.

Despite being 23-years young, Negro remains a leader and proves time and again to be of great value for our station, but also for global dressage horse breeding. Both as immediate sire and as dam sire.

Negro-daughter scores 83 points in Tolbert IBOP

During the IBOP-test in Tolbert on 20th November the Negro-daughter was absolutely convincing. She was awarded a total score of 83 points!

The trot and canter scored an 8.5, but talent and carriage/balance also scored an 8.5. Khaleesi (Negro x Don Schufro x Cocktail) is owned and bred by B.Roerink from Beilen.

Jayson hengst

Jayson (v. Johnson) KWPN-approved

From now on Jayson will go through life as a KWPN-approved stallion. The son of Johnson out of the Elite, Preferent, IBOP-dressage mare Zamora B goes back, via the preferent Negro x Wisconsin x Amor x Pericles XX, to the well-known Apollo-daughter ‘Karin’. Jayson was already approved by the NRPS. Now he’s got the KWPN-stud license too, following a splendid total score for his shortened performance test.

Jason was praised for his willingness to work and his good technique. For his canter he scored a 9.0 and his rideability and temperament were also rewarded with a 9.0. His excellent use of his hind leg and his good leg action in trot and canter attracted attention.

KWPN Inspection report

Jayson ready for Kronenberg Stallion Competition

Our recently KWPN-approved stallion Jayson, together with his rider Franka Loos, showed today that he is ready for the first stallion competition in Kronenberg on Monday 19th November.

The riders and grooms of Team KWPN have looked after him well in Ermelo. Jayson allowed himself to be easily ridden by Franka and looks fantastic. Despite it being very soon after the performance test for this combination, we are going to De Peelbergen with a good feeling.

As well as Jayson (Johnson x Negro) in the 4-year-olds, Franka Loos will ride Inverness (Everdale x Johnson) in the 5-year-olds. Charlotte Fry will also be competing in the 5-year-olds, with the stallion Inclusive (Everdale x Uptown). This will be their first competition since the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.
