George Clooney approved for Hanover

The KWPN and Oldenburg approved stallion George Clooney (De Niro x Wolkentanz) is now also approved for Hanover.

The De Niro son is starting to stand out more and more with his offspring. Last Sunday, May 12, George Clooney and Franka Loos scored over 70% in the Prix St. Georges. He also shows a lot of talent for the toughest exercises at home, such as piaffe and passage. From his first crop, there are several striking horses; Keano (mf. Lord Leatherdale) won the Prinsenstad young horse competition in Delft. Kidman (mf.Lord Leatherdale) gained 90 points for the trot during the studbook recording and Killer (mf.Tolando) regularly scores a top-3 place in young horse competitions. At the Van Olst Sales 2019 his second year of offspring was impressive. Striking was Legolas T (mf.Tolando) who left for the Czech Republic. Also Laptop (mf.Lord Leatherdale) and Legend (mf.Negro) are 2 very striking horses from the second year of George Clooney.George Clooney carries “free” blood for Dutch breeding and brings very modern sport horses with a lot of charis and 3 above average corridors.

World champion Glamourdale to dream score with Inter I debut

After Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro) and Charlotte Fry won gold last year at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, the KWPN stallion no longer appeared in the ring. Last winter there were several stallion shows on his agenda, but at the Subtop competition today in Delft the champion duo made a fantastic return in the ring and at the same time the debut in the Intermédiaire I. That ended with the top score of 76.25% and a big score victory in the combined classification Small Tour.

“It was a long time ago for Glamourdale, but he was really good today. Really amazing! ”, says Charlotte Fry, the British stable rider of Gertjan and Anne van Olst. The duo showed a clear test but the stallion was occasionally just not completely alert to his rider. “Ponies were walking in the meadow next to the ring, which is a bit difficult for a stallion. As a result, he lost his concentration a number of times, but I can’t blame him, “Fry explains. “If there are no ponies next time, it will probably be better.” Four nines appeared on the protocol: for the trotting unit, the extended canter, the halt-salute and the series every three. “We also had many eights and a positive jury comment. I am very happy to be back in the ring with Glamourdale and he really enjoys it too. ”

Van Olst top 3

The Van Olst Riders also won prizes in the rest of the top three. Van Olst rider Franka Loos achieved two scores above 70 percent: with the nine-year-old stallion Furst Romantico (Furst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall), who came in Czech hands at the last edition of the Van Olst Sales, she scored 71.25% de Intermédiaire I. In the Prix St. Georges, Loos sent the KWPN stallion George Clooney (De Niro x Wolkentanz), who was bred in Hanover, to 71.03% and thus the third place in this combined classification. with the KWPN stallion Diego (Negro x Don Gregory) 70.29% in their Intermédiaire II debut. The Grand Prix of Charlotte Fry and Dark Legend (Zucchero x Tango) was good for the third score of 69.78% .

“A good preparation for Compiegne”, says a satisfied Charlotte. From May 16 to May 19, the Nations Cup will be held at the CDI5 * in Compiegne in which Charlotte Fry and Dark Legend are included in the Team for Great Britain. “The test in Uden was a great practice to see what we can still work towards in the direction of Compiegne”. In the Small Tour, Fry scored a nice 3rd place with 68.68% with the somewhat enthusiastic For Your Eyes Only. “The series unfortunately broke down and that dropped the score”.

Everdale debuts and wins the Grand Prix

On Sunday April 28th the Grand Prix debut of our top stallion Everdale was planned, as well as the upcoming talent Nespresso. In Nispen Everdale showed to have all the qualities to become a very good Grand Prix horse, just like Nespresso who also managed to close his class in a winning way.

The combination scored 70.38 and immediately won the class. “I am so happy with how he did,” said an enthusiastic Charlotte Fry, who also successfully started Everdale at the U25. “He was a bit fresh. This was his first outdoor competition and lately he has run a number of stallion shows with good music. He was a bit too enthusiastic in the extended trot, but otherwise it went very well. He has no weaknesses and runs through the test with such ease. Exercises that I think are still tough, like the zig-zag in the canter, he runs through them without problems. We scored well across the board and we even got 8.5 for the piaffe”.

The Inter II was won by the also debuting Nespresso (Negro x Tenerife) with Anne van Olst. This great stallion ran his very first competition ever. He shows all heavy exercises with great ease and scored 67.35%.

Three top progenitors at 1 station

In addition to our up-and-coming young talents, the three top progenitors of our station showed themselves with great enthusiasm on Easter Monday. All 3 impressed them in their own way. The preferent Negro (by Ferro) and the preferent Painted Black (by Gribaldi). And the stallion who has since set up his own stallion line; Lord Leatherdale (by Lord Loxley) under saddle.

The emperor of our station is the now 24-year-old preferent top progenitor Negro (Ferro x Variant). Negro continues to stand out with his offspring. Last summer there were again many daughters who scored high on the studbook recordings of the KWPN. Negro crossed with today’s bloodlines continues to give a modern sport horse without losing quality. His son Kjento (mv.Jazz) is a wonderful example of this. But also new offspring of Negro continue to report at the highest level; Nespresso (mv.Tenerife) Anne van Olst, Elegance (mv.Monaco) Beatrice Ferrer Salat and River Rise Nisa (mv.Amsterdam) with Charlotte Dujardin, the rider who was unprecedentedly successful with the legendary Valegro (Negro x Gershwin). Negro also passes on his qualities as “father of the mother”. A daughter of Negro almost guarantees breeding success. Striking from Negro daughters include World Champion Glamourdale (by Lord Leatherdale), Grand Prix talent Everdale (by Lord Leatherdale), Pavo Cup winner Jameson RS2 (by Blue Horse Zack), Grand Prix winner Eddieni (by Johnson) and approved stallion Jayson (by Johnson) who is in the race for a World Cup ticket to Ermelo.

The Olympic participant Painted Black is also preferent. This 22-year-old son of the top stallion Gribaldi out of a mother of Ferro showed 2 very modern foals. The proof that Painted Black also still participates well in today’s modern dressage breeding. Painted Black showed himself super fit on Sunday and showed his impressive trotting mechanism. He has had an impressive dressage career and has started a second youth in breeding. More and more of his children break through at the highest level. Recently they are; Charming Lady (x Krack C), Don Bravour (x Chronos), Black Pearl (x Negro) and Zenith (x Krack C).

The now 16-year-old Lord Leatherdale has proven himself at Grand Prix level. The stallion with his “innovative and free” blood lines has set up his own stallion line. A special achievement that is reserved for very few stallions. It fits fantastic at our station in combination with Negro mares. The combination of Lord Leatherdale x Negro is now called “classic”. Chippendale is the first son of this combination. In the meantime, his 3 sons have been approved; Giovanni (x Scandic), Crosby (x  Flemmingh) and Imagine (x Jazz). Everdale also has 3 approved sons at the KWPN; Inclusive (x Uptown), Inverness (x Johnson) and Inspire (x Don Romantic). Van Glamourdale has meanwhile his son Lance V.O.D. (x Davino) approved in Denmark and Lennon (x Jazz) appointed at the KWPN.
