Time to look back at the WCYH Verden

Negro in the lead at HorseTelex Results Ranking

Since the arrival of the HorseTelex Results Ranking (2015), only one KWPN stallion has topped this list. Johnson took the top position in the world ranking for 2020. Now Gertjan van Olsts Negro (Ferro x Variant) is in the lead. And he also owes this position in large part to Van Olst personally: many of the children who collected points in the ranking for their father have a link with Van Olst.

Kastel’s Nintendo (ds. Monaco) ridden by Charlotte Jorst was owned by Van Olst as a young horse and was trained by Anne van Olst, and the same goes for Charlotte Heerings Bufranco (Negro x Zevenster) and his brother Alfranco ridden by Sarah Higgins. Severo Jurado Lopez’ Olympic horse Fendi T (Negro x Lester) is still owned by Van Olst and Beatrice Ferrer-Salats Tokio horse Elegance (Negro x Monaco) was bred by Van Olst.

A total of 19 Negros competed in international dressage last year (September 2020 – September 2021). In addition, 21 grandchildren collected points (half awarded) for their grandfather, including Van Olst’s Grand Prix stallions Chippendale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro), Everdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro), who won team bronze with Charlotte Fry in Tokyo and Glamourdale ( Lord Leatherdale x Negro), who made an impressive debut this year in the international Grand Prix.

Charlotte and Kjento win the first round of the World Championships in Verden

With a massive 94% Charlotte Fry won the first test with Kjento today during the World Championship for young dressage horses in Verden. With the ultimate 10 for trot and canter, a 9.5 for the “submission” and also for the “perspective”, the jury members were deeply impressed by the fantastic black stallion Kjento (breeder AJ van Os from Sprang Capelle). He absolutely mastered this difficult test with full concentration and it seemed to be no effort at all for the duo. Today’s No. 2 was 2% away, the No. 3 a huge 10% behind them.

On Saturday, this special duo will once again be in action during the final of the 6-year-old dressage horses.

Lottie selected for the European Championships in Hagen

After the very successful Olympic Games in Tokyo, Charlotte Fry is selected to go to the European Dressage Championships in Hagen to compete for the British team. Kenndale (s. Everdale) best gelding in the final of the Pavo Cup

Everdale-son Kenndale (mother Amerette elite EPTM-dres D-OC by Special D, bred by W.G.M. van Driel) was the best gelding in the Pavo Cup final for 6-years old. Together with his rider Nora van Houtem they rode a super test!

Kenndale already has many successes to his name, even though he is only 6 years old. For example he won the NAF Dressage Talent Berlicum twice. He also finished third in the final of the Subli Cup at Jumping Amsterdam in 2020.

Nice performance of Lantanas and Klaproos in the final of the Pavo Cup

Yesterday the final of the Pavo Cup took place in Ermelo. Charlotte Fry competed here with the stallion Lantanas in the 5 year old class and with the mare Klaproos in the 6 year old class.

Lantanas (Sir Donnerhall x Hemmingway, breeder: S.A.C. Kleuskens) showed himself very well. We were very pleased with his performance!

Klaproos (Glamourdale x Ampère, breeder: CHR. M. Snepvangers) also did a super job and scored high points for her trot and canter. A misunderstanding about the changes unfortunately reduced the score, but we have high expectations for this mare!
