KWPN stallionshow presentation newly approved stallions

Like every year, the presentation of the stallions that were approved by the KWPN last year is eagerly awaited. Van Olst Horses has approved the stallions Secret Lover v. Secret x Furstenball breeder B. Zumbruch from Wangerland DLD and O’Frederic v. For Romance I x Fidertanz breeder H. Schulte from Eggermuhlen DLD.

O’Frederic clearly showed why he could be approved last fall. This beautiful brown horse showed to have a very good uphill canter, in walk he showed the much sought-after suppleness and space and in trot he could impress with a very good technique of moving.

Secret Lover, who was approved in the spring of 2022 and whose first foals are expected this year, has become a lot stronger and more mature. The elegant black walked the course with a lot of go as if he had never done anything else.

Don Joe and Lars van de Hoenderheide report at top level

Lottie Fry had a busy autumn 2022, with full focus on her horses Glamourdale, Kjento, Everdale and Dark Legend in particular. This was a very successful period, but everything goes on, and there is also another good batch of new talents eager to break through.
Especially Don Joe (by Diego x Lord Leatherdale breeder: Van Olst Horses) and Lars van de Hoenderheide (by Negro x Layout breeder: J. Sips – Loenhout, Belgium) are knocking on the door at this highest level. Don Joe was very successful in at the beautiful CDI in Leeuwarden with fine scores of 71.5%
in the Grand Prix and 72.681% in the Special. Then in early January he had a super competition at the CDI in Exloo, scoring 71.913% and the Grand Prix and winning the Freestyle with 77.895%.
Lars van de Hoenderheide had a super international debut at the CDI Leeuwarden and a fine 70.61% in the Grand Prix and a stunning score in the Freestyle with 77.895%
Then on 21 January, Lars was winner at the Subtop Grand prix in Someren with a nice 72.772% score.
To top it all off, last weekend came the international World Cup debut for Lars van de Hoenderheide at “Jumping Amsterdam”.
Lars scored a fantastic 73.109% in the Grand Prix, and then he scored great in the Freestyle with a stunning 78.339% with a “borrowed” Freestyle from stablemate Dark Lagend.
The future for Don Joe and Lars looks bright, the start has been made, and we look forward to what the coming season will bring for them.
Besides Don Joe and Lars van de Hoenderheide, Inclusive (by Everdale x Uptown, breeder: H. Enting, Grollo) will also have to compete this coming season. This very talented son of Everdale, plays with the heaviest exercises and we are looking forward to what next season will bring for him.
Lottie is
also busy building up her 2 small tour horses. Especial (by Everdale x Vivaldi breeder: C. van Bavel, Oosterhout) and Jackson (by Everdale x Negro breeder: Van Olst Horses) are 2 very talented horses for whom Grand Prix work is not unthinkable in the near future.

Busy days for Lottie Fry at the KWPN Stallion Selection

The upcoming KWPN Stallion Selection in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (3 and 4 February), promise to be busy days for Charlotte Fry. The young stallions of Van Olst Horses, Secret Lover (by Secret x Fürstenball breeder: B.Zumbruch, Wangerland, Germany) and O’Frederic (by For Romance I x Fidertanz breeder: Heike Schulte, Eggermühlen, Germany) will make their appearance on Friday 3 February under the saddle of Lottie Fry.

In addition, Glamourdale as FEI No.1 and World Champion 2022 and 2018 will be put in the spotlight on Friday. Of course, Kjento cannot be missing here, he will be honoured as “KWPN Horse of the Year 2022”.

A great recognition for this two-time world champion, an honour already bestowed upon his stablemates Negro and Glamourdale.

The young talents

In addition, on Saturday evening, 4 February, top horses Nalegro (Painted Black x Negro breeder: J. Hanse, Burgh Haamstede/Van Olst Horses) and Nacho (by Negro x Krack breeder: S. Maakenschijn, Chaam) will be ridden by Lottie during the final Stallion Competition Class L.

Nalegro and Nacho do good business at stallion competition in Exloo

Nalegro, by Painted Black x full sister Valegro, continued his rise under Lottie Fry in Exloo. After the 86.6 points in Ermelo that were good for second place, there were now 88.8 points good for the win.

Nalegro has been considered an absolute top talent from the operations onwards who seems to have everything for the highest level.

Furthermore, Nalegro received an 8.8 for walk, a 9 for trot, an 8.9 for canter, an 8.8 for harmony and an 8.9 for overall impression.

Our second stallion Nacho, by Negro x Krack C, is also on his rise. The big Negro son also ran to a score of 82.4 under Lottie Fry in Kronenberg, received 84 points in Ermelo and now 86.6 points which was good for third place.

Kjento KWPN Dressage Horse of the Year 2022!

We are proud to announce that our Kjento, by Negro x Jazz, has been named KWPN Dressage Horse of the Year 2022.

He more than earned this title after becoming world champion for the second time this year at the Longines FEI/WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses, this time in the seven-year-old dressage horses. The Negro son, bred by A.J. van Os, stood head and shoulders above the rest of the podium of honour.

In the performance test, Kjento emerged as the best stallion of the test with 90 points. Kjento started 2021 with victory in the stallion competition class M, followed by gold in the six-year-old dressage horses at the World Championships Young Dressage Horses.

Everdale back in the ring at Mechelen

Everdale, by Lord Leatherdale x Negro, ran in the ring again in Mechelen for the first time after his last performance in Ermelo last September.

Under Lottie Fry, Everdale, bred by P. Kluytmans, ran to a fine 2nd place in the CDI Worldcup Grand Prix on the first day with a score of 75.783%.

On the second day, the duo ran to a nice score of 83.725% in the CDI Worldcup Freestyle freestyle kur to music, finishing in 3rd place.
